Dr. Viran Ranasinghe is an otolaryngologist with specialized fellowship training in head and neck cancer surgery. His primary interests include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, oral cavity and oropharynx cancer, larynx cancer, skin cancer, and salivary gland surgery. Dr. Viran Ranasinghe is an otolaryngologist with specialized fellowship training in head and neck cancer surgery. His primary interests include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, oral cavity and oropharynx cancer, larynx cancer, skin cancer, and salivary gland surgery. He also practices the full spectrum of otolaryngology, including treatment of sinus disorders and sleep apnea surgery. His philosophy is to provide the best-personalized treatment plan for each patient.

Dr. Ranasinghe grew up in New York and South Carolina before attending Clemson University, where he was a member of the Clemson Honors College and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Microbiology. He attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Dr. Ranasinghe completed his residency in Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. During his training, he co-authored multiple research papers and presented his research at national meetings. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Head and Neck Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the Harris County Medical Society.

 Outside of patient care, Dr. Ranasinghe enjoys cooking, skiing, watching college football, and spending time outdoors with his dog. He and his wife are excited to explore everything Houston has to offer.
