Our Hearing Aid Process in Houston

Programming:  During your appointment, the audiologist will program your hearing aids using specialized software provided by the manufacturer. This software applies algorithms to analyze your hearing test results, identifying your unique needs and prescribing customized settings. The programming optimizes your hearing aids for different listening environments.

Measure:  Once the hearing aids are programmed, we evaluate their performance using an objective process called Real Ear Measurement (REM). This test involves placing a thin tube into your ear, past the hearing aid, which connects to equipment measuring loudness across various frequencies. This ensures the amplification matches your specific hearing loss. Alongside REM testing, we also consider feedback from you and your family.

Educate:  We want your experience with hearing aids to be exceptional. Many devices offer additional features, apps, and accessories that can support your hearing health goals. We'll help you explore the available options and guide you through choosing what's best for you. Additionally, we'll teach you how to care for your hearing aids, as proper maintenance is crucial for both new and long-term users.

• Directional Microphones: These devices are designed to minimize background noise by focusing on sounds coming from directly in front of you. They amplify the voices of people speaking to you while reducing less important surrounding noise.

• Wind Noise Reduction:As the name suggests, the hearing aid recognizes wind as background noise and adjusts itself to reduce it, allowing you to hear other sounds more clearly.

• Remote microphones: This accessory can be added to a hearing aid to enhance speech clarity in challenging listening environments.
