Provider Biography

Dr. Ashley Wenaas has a passion for both people and problem solving, which makes each patient encounter unique. She is continuously seeking new techniques and research that will help her better tailor each solution to her patients’ individual needs.

After growing up in Canada, she left to attend undergraduate school at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. At Samford, she studied vocal performance and then spent time in Europe pursuing a music career. She then changed course to a career that would use both her intellectual and creative talents, which is what attracted her to medicine.

It was at that time that the international reputation of the Texas Medical Center drew her to Houston. Dr. Wenaas completed medical school at the University of Texas at Houston, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and then stayed in Houston to complete her residency training at Baylor College of Medicine. She now considers Texas her home and can’t imagine practicing anywhere else.

Dr. Wenaas enjoys the full breadth of Otolaryngology, with particular interests in pediatric conditions, diseases of the paranasal sinuses, as well as endocrine disorders.

When she’s not seeing patients, Dr. Wenaas enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, as well as cooking and scuba diving.
