Obtaining subspecialty certification in Sleep Medicine requires additional study and passage of a rigorous board examination.Sleep Medicine is an important component of the broad spectrum of conditions treated by otolaryngologists. The most common sleep complaints presenting to otolaryngologists are snoring and sleep apnea, conditions which can have significant negative consequences, including social stigma, poor quality of life and important health problems. Otolaryngologists are uniquely suited to treat patients with these conditions due to their intimate knowledge of head and neck anatomy and the airway, and their familiarity with diagnostic studies and both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
Dr. Moorhead joins a growing list of Texas ENT Specialists physicians who have completed additional subspecialty training. This list also includes Otology/Neurotology, Pediatrics, Facial Plastic Surgery, Laryngology and Head and Neck Surgery.
