Joel N. Anthis, MD

Dr. Joel Anthis believes a successful practice is based on putting the patient first. Each day, he finds personal satisfaction in being able to better a patient’s quality of life. Each patient brings unique symptoms and challenges and he enjoys being able to give them a personal treatment plan. He also finds it fulfilling to treat life’s full spectrum from infants just hours old to men and women in their 90s. Being the father of four children, he can relate to a parent’s fears and knows how to comfort them.
Dr. Joel Anthis is a native Houstonian and graduated from Westchester High School in Spring Branch ISD. He went on to attend the University of Virginia where he received his degree in economics. He returned to Houston for medical school attending Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency back in Virginia at East Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. There, he was named General Surgery Intern of the Year. Dr. Anthis is a Diplomat of the American Academy Of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
While caring for his patients’ medical and surgical ENT needs, Dr. Joel Anthis also likes to connect with his patients. By establishing a relationship, he can better treat them and care for their individualized needs.
Dr. Anthis’ passion is medical mission work. He & his family spent three years working full-time in a Christian missionary hospital called Evangel Hospital in Jos, Nigeria, West Africa. He provided all types of care for people who desperately needed medical help. He also taught local doctors more advanced medical and surgical care. Dr. Anthis and his family continue to return to the area for short trips.
Outside of work, Dr. Anthis is actively involved in his church. He also enjoys playing tennis. Dr. Anthis and his wife have four children who keep them very busy.
Dr. Anthis practices at the Katy Christus, Katy Memorial and Willowbrook offices.
