Garfield Johnson, III, MD

Dr. Garfield Johnson treats every patient like he would a member of his own family. He talks to you as if he has known you for years. Dr. Johnson wants to make sure you understand every step of your treatment or procedure. His goal is to make sure you feel better when you walk out of his office than you did when you walked in the door.

Dr. Johnson’s background is very diverse. He attended college at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he earned a bachelor of science in economics. While in college, he was a member of the Order of Alpha Omega Honor Society and Friars Senior Society. He worked for a year as a financial analyst before deciding to pursue a medical degree.

Dr. Johnson was awarded a four-year merit based tuition scholarship to attend medical school at the University of Michigan. When he wasn’t studying medicine, Dr. Johnson performed with the Voices of Healing, a medical school gospel choir. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the nationally acclaimed University of Michigan as well.

Dr. Johnson chose Houston for its diversity and high level of energy. He enjoys both the sports and cultural offerings of the city. He is an avid golfer and is a huge Texans fan.
